In my last post, I talked about the plan to trade in my Mustang in November to buy a 2020 4Runner and how I never intended to own a truck capable of towing our nearly 8,000 pound trailer.
Well…
We move fast in my family.
November became June 19th.
And the plan to buy a 2020 4Runner was swapped for the opportunity to buy a 2019 Silverado, 4 wheel drive, with the trailering package, and the ability to tow up to 11,500 pounds.
So we did it.
Large Marge, as I’ve named this gorgeous beast, is the newest member of our fleet. Isn’t she gorgeous? That color is called “Northsky Blue” and it makes me so happy. And after two weeks of pulling myself into the driver’s seat and then vaulting back down to the ground like an Olympian, I had the running boards installed this past Friday.
Not only did I say goodbye to my Mustang, we also sold our 2015 Nissan Leaf. Three cars for a two-person household was excessive, even if one was fully electric.
But think of all the camping we can do! Of all the adventures in store! We still plan to get an older, used trailer to take on our adventures, but we’ve already tested out the 4×4 abilities on our way out to the campground and it was fan-freakin-tastic!
And if we ever want to move our huge travel trailer from the campground, we can. Now I just have to learn how to tow…
