We bought our cute little cottage-like house in Port Orchard, Washington last October. Her insides were perfect and needed no updating, but the outside was in desperate need of some love. Seven months later, the work is 95% complete and I am so happy with the outcome. I’m more in love with my cute little quarter-acre of solitude than ever. So – some before and afters shots below!
BEFORE: the exterior of our house. Notice the “lovely” lattice and plywood porch.
AFTER: the exterior of our house. New paint and a brand new, gorgeous porch with which I am completely in love.
Since the above picture was taken, I have added rain chains instead of putting the downspouts back up. I adore them!
Next, our outbuilding.
BEFORE: she needs a lot of work.
AFTER: Love, love, LOVE.
BEFORE: Here is a shot of the back of the house – utility room area – and the workshop part of the building. It was taken from the 16’x16′ deck, which is now gone.
AFTER: So different! The house and building used to be the same color, but we went for different shades in the same color family. The trim color is the same, though. (We still have to paint the gutters white on the building.)
And finally, here’s an after shot of the garage portion of the building. I don’t have a good “before” shot, but think ugly gray and more hideous teal and you’ve got it!
A little TLC certainly make a big difference.
