Exhaustion and a good book….oh, and Henry Cavill

I’m exhausted.  Mentally and physically.  My last two trips to Seattle were for training to be the SME for our new payroll system.  All that work has culminated in the roll-out of the training program that’s happening now.  I’m training HR departments in three of our buildings and training all the managers in my home building before we launch the new system at the end of the month.  As a result, my normal work schedule is completely out of whack, I’m getting out of bed at the same time that I usually go to bed, and I have no idea what day it is. My contacts feel like they’re coated in glue and all I want to do is sleep. I had such plans for writing these past few weeks, but alas, it’s not happening.  I’m even dreaming about the training I’m doing.  But in order not to appear totally negative, I’ll just add that I’m very excited about our new system and I think it’s a great thing for our company!  I’m proud to be leading the project for our buildings, regardless of how tired I am. The one thing I never, ever want to do is appear to be ungrateful for my job!

(I apologize for the randomness of this post, btw.)

So one of my reading guilty pleasure is Lorelei James’ Rough Rider series.  Her latest installment (the 15th in the series), titled Redneck Romeo, came out today.  It’s already loaded onto my Kindle app and I’m stealing away moments between sleeping and preparing for work to read.  I love this series and am always happy when Ms. James gives readers a new story to fall in love with.  That’s my escape from reality this week!  Her 14th book featured two characters whose story is, as of yet, still unresolved. I’m dying to know if we’re going to see closure for them in her next installment.  Unrequited love/star-crossed lovers break my heart in the best possible way, and Sierra and Boone fit the bill!

My only long breaks from reality these past few days was that I went to see Man of Steel this weekend.  Twice.  And now I’m in lust with Henry Cavill.  Hubby is irritated that half the women in the audience were more impressed by Henry than by the movie as a whole.  I really enjoyed the story, love the new badass Lois Lane, but Henry…. Ohhhhh, Henry. His dark and brooding Clark Kent may just be the hottest thing to ever hit the world of superheros.  Sweet niblets, he’s gorgeous and perfect and AHHHHH!!!  New celeb to obsess over!

I’m also a little bit sad because I have no Seattle trips scheduled for the rest of the year.  I always monitor Seattle’s weather and, now that we’re already pushing 90 degrees here, their 66 degree days make me sad.  Seattle is my spiritual home, dangit, and I need to live there!

Other than that, it’s just the same ole, same ole around here.  I hope to have something exciting to blog about soon.  I have a few craft projects I want to try, and a few recipes that are waiting for attention.  Until things slow down and I feel like I can breathe again, though, I’ll be over on my Tumblr blog, repeatedly blogging pictures of a certain dashing British movie star!  ;P
